Secure Industrial Network Architecture and Segmentation
We design secure IT/OT architecture around approved flows, trust boundaries, and operational needs so security does not become a production bottleneck
Service scope
- Current-state, service-dependency, and data-flow modeling
- Design of zones and conduits, industrial DMZ, jump servers, and management paths
- Definition of firewall policy, resilience, logging, and emergency access
Practical deliverables
- Logical and physical current/target architecture diagrams
- Communication-flow matrix and least-access rules
- Phased migration plan with rollback and acceptance criteria
Architecture based on real flows
Design starts with the current architecture, service dependencies, and flows among PLCs, HMIs, engineering workstations, historians, identity services, and enterprise systems. Each flow receives a trust boundary and business need so rules are not based on assumptions or overly broad ports.
Zones, Conduits, DMZ, and remote access
Zones group assets by role, security need, and consequence; Conduits carry only necessary communication. The industrial DMZ, jump servers, privileged access, MFA, and session logging belong in one controlled path rather than as exceptions outside the architecture.
Migration uses bounded changes, before-and-after tests, boundary monitoring, and rollback. The objective is not merely a firewall: rule ownership, periodic review, and emergency access must remain operable.
